Greetings all Tai invited me here, so here's my story.
It begins in the year 1997.
I was 16 at the time, and I was a frequent visitor of a role-playing chat room called the Mos Eisely Cantina. I arrogantly went by the name Master Skywalker.
One day someone noticed my name and suggested that if I really wanted to learn something about the Force, I should talk to a man named Mitth. This person set up a meeting between Mitth and I, a meeting that would determine my path for the rest of my life. He offered to train me in the ways of the Jedi. I enthusiastically agreed. My first act, however, was to change my chat room handle. I looked through some of the Star Wars books I owned and stumbled onto the name "Streen", a character who was very much a loner, but a willing student. Pretty much like me.
Soon, after some time in training, I would go on to create a website called Jedi Alliance II (after Mitth's site, Jedi Alliance), containing what little I knew about the Force at the time. Eventually, Mitth and I decided it would be best to combine our efforts, and our writing, into one site, which he called the Jedi Council.
After months of writing and contributing to the site, a young man who went by the name Relan Volkum appeared on the scene. I was first contacted by him, and I suggested to Mitth to let him join our site as a contributer. If you know anything about Relan, you probably know that he went on to be so much more.
Later, it was decided that we create a new site, and change our site name. Relan suggested "Jedi Creed" and it stuck: www.jedicreed.org A few years later a negative BBC article was written on the internet about the Jedi Creed. Our reactions were mixed: news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/1204829.stm At the time I thought that any sort of media attention was good. I was young and naive.
Because of the embarrassing article, Mitth eventually decided to close the Jedi Creed. It wouldn't be seen again for several years when Relan took over the site and its content. In the mean time, Relan and I were working on an idea to unifying the existing Jedi. This eventually spawned the Jedi Organization, which later became JEDI: jediorganization.addr.com/jedi/
Throughout the years since then I trained whoever was willing to listen. I could name names, but most people wouldn't know who I was talking about anyway. More recently, however, my students have been Nitro, Magdelene, and Tai-Da.
I've read a LOT of books. For years I was desperately thristy for knowledge. I read about Taoism, Zen, Buddhism, Martial Arts, and what some call New Age material (such as Conversations with God). I could certainly recommend many interesting books if anyone would like to know about them.
So there you have it, my story in a nutshell. I've been around a long time. The only other Jedi that I know of that's been around as long as me, is Tionne, and she frequents the Real Jedi Knights site (she started as a role player like me).
