Someone asked me today. How do you live the life of a jedi? they were trying to make fun of jedi but their ignorance led to me thinking about the subject. What would you say it means to 'live like a jedi'? would you consider any rules etc?

for me the main goal/ pillar of the jedi way has to be patience. which leads on to the second apathy (meaning the absence of passion) the 3rd is flow, one must flow with life dont fight it youll always lose. everything else for me cant be linked back to these 3.
So to be a jedi you should take your time dont panic over life and keep your feelings in check as they will cloud your judgement

is being a Jedi a checklist of dos and don'ts? Or is it a way of life that can be discussed but is not limited to the various statements? Be careful when rushing into conversation about what it is to be a Jedi.
I am not a Jedi, but there are those who ask me what it is to be a Sith Realist. I answer them as best I can, that it is a philosophy that stems from the desire to become a complete human being, incorporating every aspect of the way we think and feel to help find a meaningful way to live. But is that all it is? Certainly not. It is a way of being, of experiencing, of doing, of thinking and feeling. It is a way of accepting the self as the authority that it is.
But I have my answers well rehearsed for those who do not care. It might be a good thing to do that for yourselves as well. Just remember to have a sense of humor about it. I mean really, we are being kind of silly here, even if the end results are so very critical.

Aye miles i think your right there the first thing most potential jedi/sith need is a sense of humor because for those on the outside these ways of life to most are childish and silly.
However i must disagree with your intial point i feel to be a jedi at least it is a checklist not something that is rigid and its do's and dont's more moral guidelines to steer you in the right direction.
Also if you wouldnt mind could you post your sith way/compass in life i think it would be good reading to find out how the dark side works in real life lol
